When I felt I was physically tired, my mental state will be easily turn into the negative state. Such as who made me tired, who brought me to this walk, who choose this walk, etc….

What I did is I stopped at the main road, and told my husband that ‘ I felt tired, and I don’t want to keep walking on the main road. I want to return back and walk to different route home. We can have a race to see who will be home first’. My husband was surprised, and he tried to convince me that this main road is shorter than the route I choose to walk home. However, he accepted my challenge and we walked to completely different directions.

In the next 45 minute walking back home, I started to work on my energy level. I said to myself ‘ I am powerful woman. I am full of the energy. I love this walk.’ By simply repeating these two sentences, I felt I had so much energy left to keep me walking.

At the end, I was 5 mines earlier than my husband. He agreed that the last 45 mins was tough for him because it was up the hill. I was just smiling.

The lesson I learned from it is:

1. when you start to feel your negative feeling. Stop what you are doing (stop walking on the main road). Break your old thinking habit loop.

2. make a choice- What can I do to make it better (walk different route home, and it was more familiar and much quieter and peaceful)

3. Take the action (tell my husband my decision and choice, and go for the opposite direction)

4. Enjoy the process and overcome your own mental challenge. (there is no blame game or judgement there anymore)

Tips: using affirmation to help you go through the tough time (physically or emotionally).
